KANSAS CITY- The Kansas City Command has been assigned Super Bowl XLV champion linebacker Diyral Briggs (6-3, 248) today, announced Command director of player personnel Ryan Myers. Briggs played in five games for the Green Bay Packers last year, helping the Packers win its fourth Super Bowl title.

Briggs (first name pronounced DIE-rell) entered the National Football League as an undrafted free agent in 2009 with theSan Francisco49ers. He joinedGreen Bayin the middle of the 2010 season, moving up from the Denver Broncos’ practice squad. Command quarterback Nate Davis, who played with Briggs in San Francisco, is looking forward to what his former 49er teammate will bring to Kansas City.
“He’s a very hard worker,”Davis said. “He’s quick off the ball and athletic. He’ll bring a ton of energy to the defensive side of the ball and to this team as a whole.”
Adding to Briggs’ championship experience, the former Bowling Green State Falcon and two-time first-team All-Mid American Conference linebacker helped the United Football League’s Virginia Destroyers win its first UFL title in its inaugural season last year.
