Command Opens Camp, Adds Five to Roster

The Kansas City Command begins on-field preparations for the 2012 season in earnest Saturday with the opening of training camp.  The team will primarily utilize two facilities for practices, Kemper Arena and the KC Sports Lodge in  Independence, Missouri.

In advance of training camp’s official beginning, the Command assigned five players to the roster, including two who were on the active roster last season.

FB Lee “Trey” Bryant (6-2, 315, Baylor) rushed for 109 yards, second-best on the team, and four touchdowns on 29 attempts last season for the Command.

WR Christian Wise (6-1, 178, Clark Atlanta) played in seven games last year forKansas City before suffering a season-ending injury.  He caught 16 passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns and was a weapon as a kick returner, taking one back for a 54-yard touchdown.

DL Royce Morgan (6-1, 275, Lehigh) is a pass-rushing specialist who tallied double-digit sack totals in af2 in 2008 and 2009.

WR Marcus Allen (5-11, 200,New MexicoState) played two seasons forNew MexicoState where he had over 900 receiving yards.

WR Darrell Strong (6-5, 273,Pittsburgh) played tight end at Pitt, catching 64 passes for 783 yards and seven touchdowns in four seasons.  He signed withOakland in 2008 as an undrafted free agent.
